        KUKA success story: HR Manager, Rachel Nimmo

        I joined KUKA as a HR Manager for KUKA and Swisslog, on a fixed term contract and covering for a period of Maternity Leave. I was fortunate to then be offered a permanent role and I am now the dedicated HR Manager for KUKA UK. 

        I have always worked in HR and started work as a HR co-ordinator after leaving university.  As soon as I started working in HR, I knew this was what I wanted to do. I have worked for a number of different companies since then and also completed my post-graduate diploma in Human Resources Management (CIPD).

        I feel very passionately about the role of HR in a business and I enjoy how challenging and varied it can be. I really believe that people are a company’s most valuable asset and I am fortunate to work for a company that feels the same. Being part of the Senior Leadership Team means I can really support the business in developing and implementing its business strategy, keeping People at the top of the agenda.

        I am always multi-tasking and I support all areas of the business and cover everything that relates to the employee lifecycle. This includes recruitment and selection, developing and retaining talent, supporting business decisions, employee engagement and ensuring employees have a voice, wellbeing and any other people-related issues. It’s a very busy but rewarding role and there is always a new challenge, we’ve recently launched Smart Working (or hybrid working) post-covid to support our employees work-life balance, employee wellbeing is also high on our agenda as is succession planning and how we can retain our current talent whilst developing future talent.
